goodbyes...

This has been the best experience of my life. I have loved most everything about this city. I met the most wonderful friends that I know I will have for the rest of my life. I am so grateful and blessed to have gotten to have this oppurtunity.
Friday night me, Krystal, Kristen, and Julia went to the Texas Embassy. I decided to geta Strawberry Margarhita and it was so delicous!! After that we met up with Julia's friend Toirsten and went to a park and listened to an orchestra play. It was so relaxing and really fun. Later that night we met up with Keely and Jon and went dancing. We had such a fun time being together and acting goofy adn celebrating our last night in London together. After that we went back to the dorms and finished up last minute packing and said a few goodbyes. It was so so sad. Krystal and I got about 2 hours of sleep and then woke up for more sad goodbyes. Kristen walked me over to the hotel where my sis and mom were. I was so happy and excited to see them! But I was also so sad to say goodbye to Kristen. I am going to miss all of my friends so so much!
Now me and my mom and sis are having a fun adventure together!
Thank you God for such an amazing summer!

The last week.. :(

Time is going by way way tooo fast. I can't believe that it's already Wednesday night! I am going to miss it here so so much. On the other hand, I miss everyone from home so much and I am really ready to see my momma on Saturday. This week has been a weird one. I am having a hard time shaking this cold thing but I am trying to see everything that I want to see. Monday I went to class at the V & A. I absolutely love the suv shop there! I can't wait to go back and get some cute stuff with my mom and sis. After that Kristen, Krystal, and I ran to get some snacks at a pastry shop and then went to Porobella Road where I found a cute BEatle's bag and a really cute dress. O Boy am I spending too much money here! That night me, Krystal, and Keely went to The Giraffe with Keelys dad Bob. We had such a good time. He was so nice and bought our dinner for us. Tuesday was presentation day in class. I was so nervous but it really wasn't too bad at all. After that we went to the British museum for afternoon class and saw the marble from the parthenon and the rosetta stone. It was a really sweet place. Me and the fam are definately going to go back there next week. We were supposed to go to the John Soane Museum afterwards but we ended up at Chipoltle with Drew and then just headed back home to relax. That night, Krystal and I went and saw Letters to Juliet. It was so cheesy but so so cute. We had such a fun time and laughed all night. Afterwards we just walked around and ended up at a slot machine place where I decided that they are definately not for me. :) Today I was feeling so tired so I decided to skip review class and slept in until 12. This afternoon me and Kristen went to H&M and lunch and Ben's cookies. I have to say, I might miss Ben's Cookies more than anything else here. They are the best cookies that I have ever had in my whole life! When we came back to the room, I fell asleep again for another 2 hours. Tongiht we went to dinner downstairs and then got ready and went to Phantom of the Opera. I absolutley loved it!! It was so incredible. The man who played the Phantom had such a great voice. It gave me the chills! Now I am getting ready to take my final tomorrow. I can't believe that me last day of school is tom. That is insane. Time has gone by so so so fast!! Slow down Slow down!

The Brighton beach at sunset. So beautiful!
Me and Keeley!

Oops..

Ok well I have been trying to put off blogging about the trip, but I guess I'm going to just have to do it. So Wednesday afternoon we get to the airport all ready for our trip. It started off bad right away when the man made me move all my liquids into one bag. It was so rude and I had an awful attitude about it. Afterwards I felt a little bad, but he was definately rude too. So we make it through securtiy and everything with no problem and then we get to the terminal and we start looking for our flight. It is not on the board. So we decide to go ask someone about it. He looks at us really funny and asks us if we've even looked at our boarding pass. Turns out our boarding pass is for 5:55 not 17:55. O man. Dumb military time. So we missed our flight and the next one want until Sunday. SO we lost our money and didn't get to go to Greece. I was so upset. I had myself a little breakdown but then felt much better and just moved on. So that night we just felt sorry for ourselves and went to Pizza Hut and pouted. Friday we decided to take a trip to Brighton so we made the plans and just hit the road. I should mention that I had been feeling bad since Wednesday night so I was a little worried about the trip. Brighton was so fun. We just walked along the beach and did some suv shopping and then went to HaHa, a restaraunt that Krystal and I went to the last time we were there. We had a really good time and had a really fun waiter. That night we went and sat on the beach while the sun went down. It was so beautiful. Friday morning I woke up feeling absolutely terrible and running a fever. I went to lunch with the girls but then had to take the train back by myself because I was feeling so bad. The rest of the day was spent on my bed. That night I went to Whole Foods with Keeley and got some yummy food and started feeling better. Saturday we spent most of the day just hanging out around the dorm doing laundry and such. THe other girls were sunburned and really tired from the trip too. We went out for lunch and dinner but didnt really do much else. This morning I slept in really late and am feeling much better. Krystal and I just went and grabbed some lunch and now we're back in the room catching up on some things. I think I'm going to take it easy for the day and make sure that I get all the way better before Momma and Jessa get here. I am so so excited to see them and show them the city. I hope they love it here as much as I do!

The view from the top of St. Pauls.
Me and Kristen made it to the almost top! Hurray!

St. Pauls!

All Saints Church

St. Pancras Church-so beautiful!

One very busy day

O boy was today a walking day! I didn't have actual class today, but instead I had to go to St. Pancras Station and All Saints Church to sketch them and look at the architecture. O man I am such a bad drawer! Me and Kristen were laughing at our pictures so much. It was actually a little bit embarassing to realize that I can't draw at all. O well, at least I didn't plan on majoring in art or anything. So Kristen and I went to both places, which were on opposite sides of the town. After that we went to St. Pauls and looked around and then walked half way up. It was like 500 steps to that point and then way more to the very top. Me and Kristen were way too tired to go all the way up so we just headed on back home after our full day. We had a fun time just being together and giggling a lot! The rest of the night was spent writing my papers and watching Eclipse. Still not so sure what I think about it? Now Im off to bed! Night!

My first look at Wales. So beautiful!
The Chepstow Castle! I loved it!

The view from the top of the castle. Amazing!

Krystal and Kristen looking so beautiful!

Me hugging a pole!

To Wales and back again!

So I definately decided that I am a real adult today. I went to a whole other country today and came back to London in one day! I just can't believe how cool that is! So it started out a little rough with some ticket problems but it ended up being a great day. We took a 3 hour train ride to Chepstow which is right on the border. There is a beautiful castle there! We walked around inside it for an hour just staring at the beautiful scenery! I absolutely loved it! The town was having a celebration and it was so so awesome! People were all dressed up in funny clothes and doing folk dances. We had such a fun time! Other than that, it was just one of those really cute small towns where everyone knows everyone else. It was such a fun thing to be a part of. I would absolutely love to live in a town like that! Now we made it back and I am about to do some homework and relax. Hurray!!

Me and Kristen ready for an adventure!
Christ Church (on the right) where we went and toured.

Inside Christ Church where everything was so beautiful and full of history.

Outside Christ Church

The crazy punting that we did!

Cambridge

Me and Kristen had another adventure today in Cambridge. The day started off a little rocky when I slept through my alarm and only had five mins to get ready, but I pulled myself together and was ready to go in three! Only six people signed up to go to Cambridge so our school decided to send us on the train because it would be cheaper, which was a lot better for us because it was way quicker than a bus. Our tour guide was the same one that we had our first day here around London. We were so so excited to have Nigel again. He is so much fun and always is saying funny things. When we got to Cambridge we walked around and looked at a bunch of the different colleges. We walked into one and looked around the beautiful courtyard. I could not even imagine living in such a beautiful city, much less studying there! We got to go into Kings Church, which was beautiful! After that we got some lunch and bought some more souvenirs. Let me just tell you I have got to stop buying suvs! I am going broke! After that we went and walked around some more and then went punting on the river. Its so weird its what the drivers of a gondola do! You take a long pole and host it into the water and try to drive the cannew/boat thing with it! It was so hard. I only tried it for like 2 minutes and then gave up! :) The first thing that Nigdl said to us when we were finished was "Well Hilary, you are rubbish." I laughed so hard! After that we were all really tired and headed back to the train station to head home to London. Kristen and I stopped at the Dutch pancake where I got nachos! (I know it sounds weird but they are delicous there!) Now I am getting stuff ready for a whole new adventure tomorrow to Wales!! I love this summer and all the fun things that I am getting to do! I am so blessed to be on this trip and to have such fun friends!

A day at Stonehenge!

Salisbury-It is so beautiful!
Me and Kristen and the Rocks!

Romeo and Rocks

Thursday for class we went to the National Portrait Gallery. It was so incredibly cold in there that I wanted to cry. That is by far the coldest that I've been in London do far. The museum is pretty cool; a lot of different kinds of portraits. We are learning how to analyze the pictures by looking at the light, lines, and different objects that could represent things. After class we went back to the the room to relax and get ready. Thursday night, me, Krystal, and Keely went to Romeo and Juliet. It was really good. I think its the best portrayal that I have seen. They made it in todays time kind of and it really helped me to undestand the story. It was played at a church and we mobed around to different place in the garden and outside the church and then went into the church for the last part. After the play, I went to O'Neals with Kristen and we listened to a live band and hung out for a little while. By the time it was over, I was so tired and ready for bed. Today has been a really fun day. I dont have class on Fridays and so me and Kristen went to Salisbury to see Stonehenge. It was a really fun experience with her but the rocks were really nothing special. There were also so so many bugs there that I almost passed out! All of these little black bugs were all over peoples shirts and I just couldn't take it. Then we went to the suv store and had a grea time buying a bunch of rock stuff!!!! When we finally made it home around 630, we were exhausted and now I am sitting in my bed and will probably be here for the rest of the night!

Harrods and Knightsbridge street

Me and some arch that is important because of some man

Keely, Kristen, and me!

Just hanging around!

A fun little walk

I just got back from walking to the Westminster area with Keely and Kristen. We had so much fun! We stopped at Buckingham Palace and Big Ben and Parliament and just took a ton of pictures. It was quite a trek getting there let me tell you. I am so glad that I wore my tennis because I would have been complaining after a little while! :) I just absolutely love it here. I am still in awe of all of the buildings and places that I get to see whenever I want. That is so amazing to me that I can just walk over to see Big Ben one night. Wow! I am going to miss it so much here!
So after I blogged on Monday night, me and Keely went to Hyde Park and walked/jogged/ran. It was so much fun. I did realize that I was way out of shape though. I definately need to work on that! I just love the park. It is so beautiful. Everyone goes there at night and just sits in the grass or walks through the park. There are a lot of trees and flowers and monuments to see. It never gets old! Tuesday I went to morning class and then grabbed Starbucks with Kristen and then went to afternoon class at the Tate Britain. Let's just say that me and my classmates had a little but of a problem getting there. :) We were over 30 mins late because we took the wrong tube! WOOPS~! THe museum was cool but it was not my favorite. I really love the Impressionist art and there wasn't any there. It was actually kind of boring listening about the same thing for 2 hours! That night I went to Hyde Park with Kristen and walked around. We went and played in tthe Princess Diana fountain. THe water was freezing which felt so good because it has been massive hot here for a couple of weeks! The rest of the night I chilled in my room and talked with friends. Oh! I also booked my trip to Greece!! I am leaving Wednesday the 8th and not coming back till Sunday the 11th!! It's just me and three of my besties here. I am so excited and so ready to lay out on a beach! Let me tell you, London is not very kind to the pale people. I think it just makes us paler!! Today we went to the National Gallery for class and listened to our teacher talk for 2 and a half hours. I think I learned how to sleep with my eyes open! At least I got to see some Impressionism after class was over-Renoir, Monet, Manet, CAlleboite, and Degas! I just loved it! After the museum, me and Kristen met with Krystal and Erin and went to eat at the Texas Embassy! That's my third time. O boy do I love Mexican food! Tonight is going to be a catch up on sleep night. I always seem to go to bed so late, but not tonight!

Me, Krystal, and Kristen on our way to Planet Hollywood!
Me and Courtney on our way to Thorpe Park.

Wow has it been a long time soince I blogged..

Thursday was a not so great day. I had our final paper due on Friday and I worked ALL day long on it except during class. For class we went to the Museum of London: Docklands. It was so cool! I just loved seeing all of the stuff and I really loved being over in that area. THe rest of the night was spent procrastinating and finally finishing my paper around 4 AM when the sun was up and the birds were chirping. Let me just tell you, that is not a good feeling. Friday was finals and turned in my paper. I hope I did good. Friday afternoon I went to Thorpe Park with Courtney and Kate. We had such a fun time; I miss roller costers so so bad!!! Friday night me and Courtney went to Pizza Hut and just hung out and then watched Shawn of the Dead with Hans, Krystal, and Kristen. Saturday I woke up early to say gooodbye to Courtney, which was so so sad. I miss her and want her to come back. Later I went to the Giraffe with Hans, Krystal, Kristen, and Max. When we got back we hung out outside until Hans and Max had to leave. This was even sadder. I dont like to say goodbye to people. It was so so sad. When I got back upstairs at 11:30 I went to bed and slept until 4, which was wonderful! I got up and went to dinner with Kristen and then hung out in her room with her until Krystal woke up around 11. I spent the rest of the night hanging out and watching some Alias, which really makes me happy. I know it sounds like a lot of laying around in the room, but I was so tired that I needed some catch up time. Sunday was the last day of catch up time and I slept until 1. THe rest of the afternoon I hung out and watched some more Alias..:) That night, me and Krystal and Kristen went to Planet Hollywood. We had such a fun time. We laughed all night long at different songs we kept requesting from the DJ and the waiter that kept watching us. After that we went to go Suv shopping. (Dont worry mom, I didnt spend anymore money!) So now we are back to today! This morning I started my new class, British Art and Architecture. I am going to absolutely love this class! We only spend like 3 days in class out of like 15. We get to go to so many museums! I am so so excited!!!! This afternoon I went to get lunch with Dawson and then came back to do laundry . I also had to take my box to ship home to the post office. O boy was that ever an adventure!!! It was such a hassle. I first of all had to carry this 30 pound box to the post office, then stand in line to be told I had to go buy tape, then I had to sit in the middle of the floor and tape of this box and put 27 stamps on it, then spent way too much money to send something just to my house! Now I am hanging out in my room planning out what to do for the next three weeks! I cant believe its almost finished. I am going to miss it here so so so much!

W.I.C.K.E.D.

Wicked is by far the greatest play ever. I had heard such great things about it, but it was even better than I thought. I did not even fall asleep once! (Which is saying a whole lot.) I bought way way too much at the Suv store but thats ok. I definately think it was worth it! The "Defying Gravity" part was by far my favorite! It is so amazing! I think that I'm going to watch it on YOUTUBE again right now. Actually I should prob start working on my paper thats due Friday since I was supposed to work on it today but ended up just laying around. I am definately going to be dreaming about Wicked tonight!

time to do some school :(

Well today was supposed to be Stonehenge day, but that got postponed to Wednesday so now it has become school day. I am going to be spending the day writing my history essay and then hopefully getting it finished for Friday. If it happens, then I will have beaten my procrastinating record! Here's hoping! Also, I found some Ranch Dressing at a store so tonight it Salad with Ranch in the Cafeteria. Woot Woot! O the simple things in life. :)

The Beach at Brighton
Me and Julia at the Pier

Me and my roomie Krystal

The Brighton Pavillion that King Goerge IV built

Brighton

Today I got to go to the Southern beack town of Brighton. It was so beautiful. It has been such a long time since I've been to the beach and I really enjoyed it! The day was kind of a bummer because we hit a ton of traffic on the way there and on the way home because of a bike race going on from London to Brighton. I think I could have gotten there quicker on a bike! :) O well, once we got there I got to see the Brighton Pavillion that George IV built. I also had a big lunch at HA!HA! and then walked along the pier and got some ice cream. It was so cool being at the pier because thats where Wimbledon was filmed! After our long trip home, I got some Chinese food and then got ready for bed and am now on my computer! Time to catch some Z's for my busy week ahead! Good night!

An action packed day in Stratford

Stratford Upon Avon is totally amazing! We had such a good time today. It started out super exciting when our coach bus clipped another car and spun it around. I was asleep when we hit and I got thrown into the seat in front of me. It was kind of painful but I still laughed about it. Before we arrived in Stratford, we stopped at Shakespeare's mother's house. It was so fun. It has been converted into a petting farm too. I got to see pigs, goats, cows, and owls. Of course, I also got a lot of fun suvs! Later we made it into Stratford and toured Shakespeare's childhood house and where he was buried. It was such a beautiful city and I had so much fun hanging out with Kristen, Keely, Chelsea, Jess, and the Julias. The ride home was not as eventful and I got to sleep most of the way. When we got home we went to Pizza Hut for dinner and now Im back in my room getting ready to hit the sack since we have to be up in the morning for our trip to Brighton!

Brick Lane

Today we went to Brick Lane in East London and ate some curry. It was actually really good!! After that we just walked around Piccadilly Circus for a long time and had a good time. The rest of the day will now be spent chilling out and watching movies! I love London.

Week 4

Tuesday was spent in my room in my bed most of the day. I needed a recoup day and I spent a ton of time watching Alias, an old TV show on youtube. I did go to WHole Foods for lunch and got a great taco salad that was kind of like Chipoltle. Man do I miss Mexican Food. Thursday we went on a field trip with class to walk around the central part of London around Westminster and Trafalgar Square. Afterwards, me, Chelsea, Krytal, Hans, and Erin all went to Soho and ate at a really delicous Chinese place. The people there were very rude and did not like Americans but we still had a great time eating some great food! Later that night we went to the Royal Albert Hall and watched Swan Lake. It was really pretty and very amazing to be in such an incredible place that so many famous people have been in. Afterwards we went over to McD's to get a McFlurry and that was so delicous. Today I went to the Museum of London and looked at the modern London section. It was really cool to see how people lived in the past. I am going to miss being in a city with so much history. I just truly love it here. After class we went to see Billy Elliot. It was ok, nothing compared to Les Miserables but still amazing. Tonight we are going to walk around kensington and take some pictures. I am going to miss the beautiful city so much!
